Morning Affirmations

“I am worthy, I am loved, I am cared for.”

It may sound hokey, but what if you give a gift to yourself and repeat these affirmations every morning… “I am worthy. I am loved. I am cared for. I care for others. I choose only good for myself. I choose only good for others. I love myself. I love others. I open my heart. My heart is open.”

What if, by faith, you trust that the source of this love is Christ himself? The one who came to his own, who manifests God’s love in its fullness and shows you how to be human moment by moment. What if his embrace has been your basecamp all along? What if this Christmas you simply accept your acceptance? What if you live “from” him, instead of “for” him? I always sing Silent Night in Afrikaans… it keeps me tied to my South African roots.

“Stille nag, heilige nag,
Alles rus, eensaam wag
Slegs Maria, geseënde vrou
By haar kindjie, met Josef so trou
Soete Hemelse rus!
Soete Hemelse rus!”

When I sing this, I feel his embrace… May you too!

Merry Christmas!!
